Please. And I repeat, please. Don't plastidip your entire car! One wheel or four is okay. You like your emblems matte, go right ahead. But when you dip your entire car to get the frosted look, just stop and think. It will not look frosted. It will not look good. Especially in bright orange. I'm looking at you, owner of that Lexus IS 250 I saw this morning! No SR20 of that one, unfortunately, but trust me on this, that's probably a good thing.
Thank you and good morning.

All you need is a small plastic knife to carve out a penis on the hood. Problem = solved.

Are you sure he didn't just spray paint it?

You, sir, are a genius.

Meh — If it makes them happy, what do you care?

That's what I was thinking. I've seen plastidip jobs that were done with a decent spray gun and they don't look half bad. This looks terrible.

I sincerely hope not. That would be even worse. At least plastidip is reversible.

If it's matte paint instead of plastidip you can just use your finger nail to knock the finish down.

Confession time; I'm contemplating doing this to the Jeep. The black paint now is just a collection of scratches, and this is a way to change up the look without spending 4 figures. And if I get bored, I'll just peel the fucker.

While I completely agree that this example is awful, I have seen many that actually look quite good. For example:

Why not go all out at the point and frost the windows as well as themselves?

That doesn't look half bad, but this Audi and the IS250 I saw this morning suffered from overspray and looking velvetty, respectively.

Yea, that Audi looks terrible. You would think that the owner would at least try to have it done right on a car that expensive.

If you use if offroad I have no issue with it, like this one, which is actually really well done:
Just don't use it as a cheap alternative to a matte paint finish.

Or in the very least taken the time to mask off the wheels or something...
